María Eugenia Valdes is PhD in Biological Sciences, a degree obtained from the Faculty of Exact Physical and Natural Sciences of the National University of Córdoba (UNC).

She is currently an Assistant Researcher at CONICET, in Chemical Sciences at the National University of Córdoba (UNC) on the topic "Phytoremediation of emerging contaminants and metals in aquatic systems: application in aquaculture", under Dr. Magdalena Monferran supervision.
