Dra. Silvia G. Correa
Silvia G Correa studied Biochemistry at the National University of San Luis. In 1991 she obtained her PhD in Chemistry at the National University of Cordoba.
Between 1992 and 1994 she made a posdoc at the Max Planck Institute fur Experimentelle Medizin-Goettingen, Germany.
Since 1997 she is a member of the Research Staff of CONICET in the independent category.
She is Associated Professor since 2012 and responsible of Immunoneuroendocrinology, an elective course of the Biochemistry curriculum. She belongs to the 104 Laboratory of CIBICI-Department of Clinical Biochemistry, directing a research group that studies the intestinal immunity. She co-authored over 70 scientific papers, 58 of them in international magazines and has written 7 chapters in books.
She gave numerous conferences and postgraduate courses at national and international level keeping a sustained academic cooperation with Brazilian universities such as the Universidade Estadual Paulista Juio de Mesquita Filho, the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria , the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina and the Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro.
During 2013-2015 she participated as co-Coordinator of the Medical Science board of the Scientific Research and Technology Funding (FONCyT) of the National Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation (MINCyT). From 2013 she is Secretary of the Academic Department at the National University of Cordoba and is Director of the Immunology Master at the National University of San Luis along with Professor Silvia DiGenaro.
