Sola, Claudia del Valle

Claudia del Valle Sola, PhD.
Dr. Claudia Sola is an Associate Investigator of CONICET. She graduated as Biochemist at the National University of Cordoba, with a grade average of 9.70/10, for which she received an Honorable Mention “University Award”. In the beginning of her career, she focused in the clinical setting and obtained a fellowship from the Government of Cordoba Province as “resident in clinical biochemistry (area: bacteriology)” in the “Cordoba Hospital”. After this, she got a position as Resident Instructor.
In 1997, Dr. Sola became “Specialist in Bacteriology” in the School of Chemistry, National University of Cordoba. She then was awarded a fellowship from the “Agencia Española de Cooperación International del Gobierno de España”, to carry out an internship in the Reference Center for Molecular Epidemiology, Madrid, Spain. During this internship, Dr. Sola carried out the molecular characterization of S. aureus strains isolated in Cordoba, Argentina. These studies were foundational for her thesis project, which started upon her return to Argentina. Few years later, she again was awarded a fellowship for an internship in the already mentioned Reference Center in Madrid.
In 2005, Dr. Sola obtained her degree as PhD in Chemistry Science at the National University of Cordoba. During 2006-2007 she performed a postdoctoral training as a fellow of the Secretary of Science and Technology, National Cordoba University. In 2008, she obtained a position in CONICET where she currently is an Associate Investigator.
Dr. Sola is the director of thesis projects in the field of Molecular Epidemiology in the context of S. aureus infections and she currently is the supervisor of two PhD students. Dr. Sola also has a position as Assistant Professor in Bacteriology and Virology in the career of Biochemistry at the National University of Cordoba. She also is the Director of the Career “Specialization in Clinical Biochemistry – Bacteriology Area” of the same institution.
